Rag Rug Weaving

Weaving with strips of cloth for the weft is fun and fast. Old bed sheets or new cotton fabric is torn into strips then "beaten" into place to make a rug. Students find the process a lot of work, but rather therapeutic. When weaving the rug, you will get to choose the color and arrangement of the cloth strips. Cloth will be provided by the studio; if you want to bring your own cloth, then make an appointment so we can determine if the cloth is appropriate. When the rug is woven and cut off the loom, knots are tied for the fringe. Then your rug will be ready to use in your home.
